The Event

Real world boxing is a sport of both physical and mental strength, speed and endurance. Matches, while not lasting very long in the grand scheme of things, are very intense to both participate in and watch. This, we feel, is as close an analogue as we could derive from the real world and commonly understood balance that is this fast paced sport.

This event was first designed as a fun competition at the World's Faire Carnival first held in March 2020. People enjoyed it so much we've created a full yearly event for it, with fights each month, twice a month, culminating in December with the title bout.

The year's champion will go on to have the honor of opening the boxing tournament at the World's Faire Carnival in March!

The Rules

NO WEAPONS AND NO MAGIC! BOXING GLOVES ONLY!

Each Contender starts with 10HP, and a 0 of 3 ‘Knockdown’ (KD) counter. Please put this in your TRP currently frame and keep it updated!

At 0HP, a Contender is knocked unconscious, leaving the other Contender victorious OR at 3 of 3 KD, a Contender loses by Technical Knockout (TKO).

The match will begin with each Contender rolling 20. The higher roll both emotes first, and scores a hit. If the opening roll ties, each Contender will roll 2. Whoever rolled 2 will go first, but will be considered a block or a miss.

A Contender that has the lower roll is hit, and loses 1HP.

A KD occurs when one Contender rolls 5 or higher over their opponent’s roll.

When a Contender is considered KD, they lose 1 HP and gain 1 KD counter on their total.

When a Contender is KD, they cannot receive damage the following turn, even if they lose the roll. The winner of the roll posts first, but must emote that they are withdrawing to allow their opponent to stand up.

Showboating is encouraged for dramatic flair, however if you hit your opponent while they are on the ground, you will be disqualified!

There are 10 turns in a round. And a maximum of 3 rounds per fight.

At the end of the 10th turn in the round, the Referee will separate the Contenders, where they will go back to their corners to recover 1HP and remove one KD counter from their total.

At the end of Intermission the Referee rings the bell, and the Contenders may begin rolling for the first turn of the next round.

If there is no winner by KO or TKO, the winner will be decided via a ‘score’ by deducting your KD total from your HP. (If you had 6 health and 1 KD, that would give you a score of 5, for instance.)

In the event of a draw, the match moves to sudden death, where the first hit to land determines the winner.

In the event of misconduct, including but not limited to illegal strikes or excessive poor sportsmanship, one point will be added to the offenders KD counter per offence. No warnings will be given on a first offence.

But the most important rule of all, is to have fun. For the sake of the sport and the immersion of RP, have fun. Go wild with your emotes. Show a little restraint in the length of them and don't take forever with them, but by all means, let's put on a good show for everyone involved.
